SOXON Cross Country

Congratulations to Eliza and and Florence (Year 1), who took part in the SOXON Cross Country event! They went along well prepared on a cold, Saturday morning and remembered to do their important warm up stretches before the race started! The course was really challenging but both Eliza and Florence battled it out and finished the race earning a well deserved snack and hot chocolate at the end!

Well done to both runners and thank you for representing our school so brilliantly!

Year 2 Pasta!

Skylarks class had a great Healthy Eating practical session this week:

Making fresh pasta from 100g 00 fine flour, an egg and a pinch of salt! It’s that easy! You have to be brave and crack the egg into your volcano of flour then scoop and mix it together. Next Need the pasta dough until it’s like play dough!Then….. roll and roll and roll, fold up…, and till and roll and roll the dough! (Or borrow a pasta rolling machine from Mrs Cockman! (Thank you! It made it so easy!) when the dough is ‘card’ thin cut it into strips or any shape you like!Boil in water for 1 minute! Strain off water and eat freshly cooked!

Wallingford Partnership Mixed Football Tournament

We are very proud of the Year 3&4 children who represented the school at a football tournament at Wallingford School yesterday. We had two teams and were so good, that we had to play against each other in the semi-finals!

The final was against Benson and they ended up winning with penalties.

All the children were a credit to the school and their families and showed impeccable sportsmanship throughout. A particular thank you to Daisy, who put herself in the very challenging position of being in goal for the penalties - she did an amazing job!

Thank you to all the families that came to watch and support and the parents that helped with transport.

Seals - making connections

This week has been Children's Mental Health Week and we have been learning that connecting with people is very good for our mental health.

Seal class did a lovely art activity to make connections with their classmates. They each completed one half of a postcard with a design that was meaningful to themselves eg their hobbies, favourite things, what they care about etc. They then swapped with another class member and completed the other half making sure that they connected the two designs in some way. These resulted in a lovey piece of artwork which are now on display in the hall.
