OPEN Dance Festival
On Tuesday, Cholsey hosted the OPEN Dance Festival. It is always a fantastic event and a good opportunity for the children to mix with others from our partnership schools. We were lucky enough to have two groups performing this year. The angels from Year 1/2 performed their nativity dance and the Y5 children performed a Bollywood themed dance.
We were excited that DGS could join us again this year. They performed four dances from their recent show at the Cornerstone in Didcot. This is always a lovely experience for our children and shows them what they could achieve at secondary school.

Cholsey WWI Centenary Service
Some groups of children have been attending Centenary Services at the Cholsey Pavillion to commemorate members of Cholsey Parish who lost their lives in WWI. Today the children heard about the life of Private Bernard Belcher, for whom there was a minute's silence and a poem read.
Cholsey Brass Band play for the OASIS group
Members of the Cholsey School Brass Band entertained the OASIS group at the Baptist Church in Wallingford yesterday. The children performed beautifully and there was a lot of foot-tapping and singing along to the Christmas songs. The members of the OASIS group enjoyed chatting to the children afterwards.
Thank you to Ms Atkins and Mr Barlow for arranging this and preparing the band.

Year 3 String Concert
A big well done to all the Year 3s and Mr Fullylove for a wonderful concert on Monday. It is really impressive how far the children have come in such a short time.

Thank You PTA
Many thanks to our fantastic PTA, who have purchased some outdoor activity and PE equipment for our children to use! So far we have received:
- A class set of Tri-Golf equipment
- Bollywood dance bells
- Ultimate Frisbee's
- Indoor balls
- Outdoor sports balls
This equipment will really enhance the outdoor opportunities our children get, and will provide structured activities for the children during play times. They will also be available to use in PE lessons, KS1 investigation time and during additional opportunities for outside exercise. As you can see, our children have thoroughly enjoyed using them already.
OPEN Rugby Training
On Monday, Cholsey held the first sports training event for the OPEN Schools. As an OPEN PE group, we feel it is important for the children to have opportunities to learn and progress together as well as compete against each other.
Despite the rain, the event was a huge success and the children have now formed some lovely friendships with team members from the visiting schools.
Thank you to James and Steve from Rugby Tots for coaching this event.
