Maths challenges
Lisa Mills was in school again today working with children from year 6 and year 3. Lisa is a specialist maths teacher who supports us two afternoons per week. Today the year 6's were using Cuisenaire Rods to calculate decimals and fractions. They also did some work on algebra. They certainly looked like they were enjoying the challenge!

Sports news !
Swimming Gala
Jack in year 4 took part in his first swimming gala this weekend for Didcot Barramundi. The gala took place in Aylesbury and ran over the whole weekend. Jack performed brilliantly and came away with two bronze medals (50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke) and a silver medal (100m freestyle). Fantastic work Jack!
Rugby World Cup preparation at Cholsey!
The children in Years 3 and 4 have been captured by the 2015 Rugby World Cup. During PE lessons they have discussed what qualities the players need to demonstrate to be successful (teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship).
On Monday the Year 4 children took a brief look at the NZ Hakka and had a go at performing their very own version!
Here they are looking very fierce

Year 5 Bridge Builders!
This week year 5's have been building bridges.
We have made lots of different types of bridge such as truss bridges, suspension bridges and our own designs.
They have each been tested for strength and design.
We all learnt a lot about destruction and how builders make bridges.
It has been great fun!
