To launch our new and exciting topic 'Crime and Punishment', the children in Year 5/6 visited Oxford Castle. During the visit we went on a tour of the castle, found out about some interesting criminals who stayed there and took part in an exciting workshop exploring punishment through the ages.
Welcome to our school blog. Here we will show you some of the things we have been getting up to at Cholsey Primary School. We would love to hear your comments (note that these may not appear immediately)

James Carter Poetry Day
Tuesday was a very exciting day as poet, James Carter, came to visit us! The children loved listening to him perform his poems in assembly and it inspired some fantastic writing during his workshops.

Swing Band Supper
Our guests from South Africa enjoyed a meal prepared by Mrs Bryers and her able assistant, Mrs Crickmore, accompanied by music from the Swing Band. It was wonderful to showcase the musical talent from Cholsey pupils, past and present. Thank you to Mr Barlow and Ms Atkins for the entertainment. Thank you to Mrs McKeown for the photos.

ChoKo
We have had the most wonderful week so far, hosting our visiting teachers from South Africa. We have been entertained by their amazing singing and dancing, played football with them, found out about their culture and shared a lot of good practice and training. We will certainly miss them next week.

KS2 Harvest assembly & Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who has sent in spare food items for Harvest. These will be donated to the Wallingford Food Bank tomorrow - there's still time to send in donations tomorrow morning.
KS2 children today thought about all the things that they were grateful for and sang some lovely harvest songs. It was lovely to hear the choir.

Year 6 PE Morning at Wallingford School
The Year 6 children had a fantastic time at the Wallingford PE morning. They all took part in activities such as: trampolining, climbing, fitness, dance and netball. The event is always a great opportunity for the children to form new friendships with children from local primary schools.
It was lovely to see some of our previous Year 6 Sports Leaders running the activities and sharing their secondary school experiences.
