Summer BBQ

The children (and some staff) really enjoyed the Summer BBQ themed lunch this week. The sun even made an appearance, which meant the hats and sunglasses came in very handy.

Governor Open Day

On Monday this week we held our 'Governor Open Day' This was an opportunity for members of our governing body to come along for all or part of the day to:

·       develop a closer relationship between children, staff and governors
·       enable governors to experience the day-to-day life of the school
·       see strategies in action
·       support and encourage staff

The day was a huge success. We had a full turnout from our governors and they all found the visit both very informative and enjoyable. Highlights were the great attitude to teaching and learning shown throughout the day, excellent behaviour, welcoming children and staff and the caring and friendly atmosphere.   As a governing body we feel it is paramount that we really know our school and the open day really helped us to achieve that. Feedback from our open day will be analysed at our next Full Governing Body Meeting.

Book Swap

It was wonderful to see so many children (and adults)  enjoying choosing books
yesterday, when we had another book swap in the hall after school.

We were so impressed with both the quantity and quality of books that families brought in - thank you so much for your support.

A dragon has been in KS1!

The children in Y1&2 have watched a video of some CCTV footage this week, which showed that a dragon was in KS1 over the Christmas holidays. The children have independently been looking for, and sharing, clues about this unusual visitor and it has inspired some wonderful learning.
