Who Dunnit?

Year 3&4 all morphed into mini detectives on Wednesday, when they tried to solve the mystery of the missing House Cup. Clues were left around the school to find and solve and a lot of forensic investigation was carried out, before they identified who they thought the culprit was. Miss Ho did return the cup!

More Chess Success

There is another chess trophy on order for our trophy table. Representatives from our Chess Club played in a tournament against children from Basildon CE Primary School today and won! The children all played brilliantly and their great sportsmanship was commented on.  A massive thank you to Mr Green for organising it.

KS1 Athletics Fun

8 KS1 children went to an athletics afternoon at Ladygrove Park School on Friday afternoon. The children had to do a carousel of activities and really enjoyed it, they even won a second place. They behaved brilliantly and were great ambassadors for Cholsey School. Thank you to Clare Maher and Gail Shepherd for helping by driving some children there.

The countries they visited were: Russia, Spain, Poland, Egypt, Mexico, Australia, Morocco, Nigeria, Japan and Brazil.
Here is a flavour of what went on!

Anti Bullying

Last week our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors - Bonnie, Marta, Isla, Kitty and Eva ran an assembly in KS1 and 2 to educate everyone about bullying. As ambassadors, their job is to make sure that everyone at Cholsey knows what bullying is and where to go for help. They have organised surveys to get a better understanding of how safe our children feel and we will look carefully at the results to see if there is anything we need to improve.

Lighting up Y5/6

Yr 5/6 are studying light this term. They discovered that you can only see objects because light reflects from them into our eyes. Have a look at them exploring this. They also discovered that light travels in straight lines and that you can't see objects around bends - not without a reflective surface! They also watched a video which shows how our brains try to make patterns. Be warned - there are lots of black and white flashing lights - but at the end of 2 minutes - the children were amazed! Here's the link - but be careful if you might have trouble with the flashing lights!

Year 3 / 4 enjoy Forest School

Here are some pictures of the first YR3/4 Forest School session this week. Thank you Mrs Stanley - the children reported that it was awesome!
