Happy Pancake Day everyone!

Today I took a group of School Councillors from key stage 2 down to The Forty to compete in the annual pancake race against the Treehouse School. As always it was a very enjoyable event.

Year 5/6 Ballroom Video

Year 5/6 Ballroom Dancing

On Tuesday, the children in Year 5/6 took part in a class Ballroom and Latin Dance Competition. The children have spent the last few months learning four dances: Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Jive and Cha Cha and were able to show off the amazing progress that they have all made. To make it a special event, the children dressed up in their class colours.

We are so proud of how much progress these children have made. These lessons have instilled confidence, resilience, perseverance and lots of teamwork in all of our children. We are very grateful to Krystof and Natalia for the time and hard work that they put in to supporting our children to learn a new skill.

Well done to Snow Leopard Class for taking the win and bringing back the trophy, it was a very hard decision!

KS1 Art Club

KS1 Art Club have been busy creating a winter woodland with some rather colourful trees.
The children painted the backgrounds first by mixing colours and then used glue and salt to create an icy effect. The next step was to paint their tree trunks and they then collaged on top using tissue paper.

Blood!!

This term, year 5/6 are studying the heart and the circulatory system. They even made blood. They were very surprised to learn just what is in blood!

IMPS Year

The Year 6's spent a morning learning the hugely important skill of learning how to deal with a medical emergency. They practised CPR and how to use a defibrillator. I am very proud of the way they conducted themselves on this trip.

Reading Buddies

Every Friday afternoon the older children visit the younger children to be reading buddies. It is always such a special time and all the children get something from the experience.
Here are some photos of Woodpecker class and Snow Leopards.
