Mayan Bags

I just visited the Year 56 classrooms where some of them were just finishing off their fantastic Mayan Tote Bags. They explained how they have used a range of skills including, sewing, tie-dying and also printing.

They look amazing!

Year Ones spread a little Kindness

Children in Year 1 have been learning how important it is to spread kindness. They watched a great video from the Art of Brilliance and learnt how doing random acts of kindness not only makes the recipient feel good - it can also make you feel good too!

After reading a story called Have you filled a bucket today? they made their own "Envelope buckets" which are pinned up in each classroom. The idea is that they can fill each-other's envelopes with kind words and pictures to really make everyone feel special.

CARE Club in action

CARE Club runs on Mondays through to Thursdays in the school library. It is there to help people who are feeling lonely at lunchtime or who feel like they would prefer a quiet space.

It is always popular. Children can do colouring, jigsaws, read or play quiet games.

I really enjoy helping to run CARE Club because I like interacting with the children.

Children's Mental Health Week

As part of children's mental health week, the children have explored a range of activities in order to keep their heads and hearts healthy.  We used 'The Colour Monster' by Anna LLenas to help us to explore different emotions and then we put things that we associated with those feelings in our jars. We then thought about the people who support us and help us to grow and the children enjoyed creating their support balloons. It was also lovely to see them dressed to express today!

Thank you!

A BIG thank you to Jonny and George for spending their weekend wading in water trying to get back all of our PE equipment! I hugely appreciate this as will all the children. What a lovely thing to do for our school community!

Year 6 IMPS

Year 6 have been learning valuable First Aid Skills as part of the IMPS course (Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools)

I.M.P.S. empowers young people to take personal responsibility for their own risk management and equips them with the skills to cope in an emergency situation. The programme equips children with first aid and resuscitation skills, helping them to respond effectively if an incident occurs.

Here we see them practising putting each other into the recovery position.
