Year 5/6 Science
In science this week, year 5/6 have been experiencing a rather sped up version of evolution. Here they learned that in order to survive your species needs food and needs to adapt to any changes in the environment in order to find their food. I think they enjoyed it!

Year 5/6 Living Rainforest Trip
Today, Year 5/6 had a trip to The Living Rainforest. It was a great way to learn about the different plants and creatures of the rainforest and how they have adapted to suit their habitats. The children also learnt about the different layers of the rainforest.

‘I’m Year 5/6 Get Me Out of Here!’
To kick start our topic ‘Our Wonderful World’, Year 5/6 took part in a rainforest quiz. If the children got the answers wrong they could choose to eat a critter! Their delicious options were: Mealworms, Buffalo Worms, Locusts and Grasshoppers! Clearly some of them were very yummy as the children started asking for more!
Happy New School Year
What a lovely start to our new academic year. There was a purposeful calm throughout the school today, as children and adults got to know each other and started their learning in relation to our whole school topic ‘ Our Wonderful World’.
Activities ranged from beautiful collages to Bushtucker Trials (photos of that to follow!).
We are looking forward to more fun tomorrow.
