Year 6 Solve Problems

We had a fantastic problem solving session this morning with a group of Year 6 children,  focusing on reasoning. We discussed how the most important aspect is ‘noticing’. Noticing patterns, relationships and variables allows you to find the best approach which can sometimes be the only way to solve a problem. We also looked at how important it is to be able to ‘convince’ yourself before you ‘convince’ others and then move to reasoning so succinctly that your explanation stands alone without you needing to be present! Well done!
