Duck News

We have all spent the last few weeks creeping past the duck who was nesting in a raised planter in the courtyard and today, we spotted 8 fluffy ducklings that had hatched overnight. We followed advice given and after school today, we moved the ducklings with the mother duck following, to the brook so that they could feed once they were on the water.

This was no mean feat and Mrs Robson and Miss Jones were fantastic at retrieving the ducklings and putting them safely in a box and then guiding the duck who was following the ducklings' chirps. Once outside, the daddy duck arrived to also get involved. We popped the ducklings under the fence near the brook and the parents flew over to receive them. Phew!
