Black History Month Visitor

We were very excited to welcome Maggie Kaipah-Milne on Tuesday as part of our learning during Black History Month, which takes place throughout October. Maggie joined Cholsey Primary School as a pupil in 1968 after moving from Malawi to Cholsey and she and her brother were the first black children at the school. Maggie has recently written her memoirs and one chapter is about her time at Cholsey School, which she remembers very fondly. She recited a poem about her connection with both Malawi and England and read out parts of her book. The children were fascinated and had well-thought out questions to ask her. She came with her friend, Rosalie, who also used to attend Cholsey Primary School.
