You might have noticed the new orienteering trail that has been placed around the school. This year, we have used some of our Sport Premium money to have the school professionally mapped out and a cross curricular trail installed. During the Autumn Term staff received training on the new scheme of work and the children can’t wait to use it! Year 3/4 are using the scheme in PE to learn their basic orienteering skills so that they can use the whole school trail in other subjects and encourage active learning. We are aiming for a competitive Ancient Egyptian quiz trail at the end of term! Here are Panther Class learning how to orientate their mini maps correctly and to follow a trail. This activity involved some maths calculations too.
Once all classes have received the training, we hope to be able to use the trail at lunchtimes and for competitions!
